KMEZ trained specialists operating equipment under excessive pressure
The targeted course on the topic «Operation of vessels operating under overpressure at hazardous production facilities» was intended for employees of several plant departments at once: Copper smelting, Tankhose, Copper Rod manufacturing. Vitaly Reshetnikov, Tankhouse Chief Power Engineer, taught theoretical and practical lessons.
“I have been working at the Russian Foil plant for not so long,” says Sergei Karpov, the Tankhouse Operator. “I am, of course, familiar with the basic principles of operation with devices under pressure. But the teacher tells us a lot of important details that I had no idea about.”
“For example, it never occurred to me to think about the difference between a gate valve and a turnbuckle,” agrees with his senior friend Aleksey Shleverda. “Vitaly Reshetnikov explains the material in everyday simple language and always answers all the questions. Even if we come to classes after the night shift, we still can’t doze off: it is interesting to listen to, and imperceptibly you get involved into discussion.”
Indeed, Vitaly Reshetnikov tells about heat exchangers, boilers, reactors, heaters not by the book. He has an extensive experience – he has been working at the plant since 1997. Vitaly admits that he could well dictate a theory to listeners from one of the many books he read, only this would be a waste of time.
“I always try to “shake” the students, to hand on to them the main things in my own words, otherwise no one will understand a thing. If I see that someone has not got it, I explain it again. It is necessary that everyone not only pass the exam, but also learn to apply the gained knowledge in everyday work”.
According to the rules, only specially qualified personnel can service vessels under overpressure. The students successfully completed the course, passed the exams and were allowed to operate such devices. The need for such certified personnel at the plant is very high.
Russian Foil trains the personnel on the basis of the license No.10101 dated October 30, 2012 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk region, either directly at the plant or on the basis of the plant with the help of training centres. For these purposes, the company has a computer training class equipped with 15 computerized zones, and two classrooms.
