Today the main activity of the KMEZ plant is fire and electrolytic refining of blister copper, processing of copper scrap and copper waste containing precious metals, production of copper cathodes of the M00k grade and copper rod of class A, as well as precious metals production. Under the management of RMK, the plant underwent a complete technical modernization: the second anode furnace was upgraded; a new Tankhouse (electrolysis workshop) was constructed based on Outotec company (Finland) project; using Southwire Company technology (USA) was built a workshop for the production of copper wire rod; overhaul of the main smelting unit of the plant was carried out and the electrolytic copper refining process was optimized.

KMEZ installed automated systems for optical quality control of the copper foil.

Two modern systems at once, allowing real-time detection of the smallest, invisible defects of the web, appeared in the Copper Foil Electrodeposition division at the Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant.
