Metallurgists of the Kyshtym Copper Electrolyte Plant were awarded with state awards
Alexey Teksler, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, presented state awards to some residents of South Urals. There are two employees of the Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant among them. The decree on awarding the honorary title «Honoured Metallurgist of the Russian Federation» to the foreman of the anode smelting division — Andrey Kurchavov and the operator of the Tankhouse — Radik Gubaidulin was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the eve of the professional holiday — Metallurgist Day. But due to the coronavirus restrictions, the awards were presented only on the first day of winter, and in compliance with all safety measures. The participants of the ceremony were wearing masks and were allowed to take them off only at the moment of the award presentation.
“Today 33 of our fellow countrymen has been awarded with medals and honorary titles,” said Alexey Teksler, addressing the audience. — You deserve these awards with your intelligence, talent, responsibility, selfless dedicated service for the benefit of native land. Also, the high praise of those who work next to you.
— I am a very calm person and I was not nervous at all before the ceremony. But the words of the governor made us look, in a different way, both at the award and at today’s event, they acquired special meaning, special value – admits Andrey Kurchavov. – I am very pleased that the management of the workshop and the Russian Foil factory appreciated my humble input into the common cause.
Andrey descended from a family of metallurgists. His grandfather and father worked at the plant, and his mother still works. January 2021 will mark the 30th anniversary of the day when, after army discharge, he stepped across the threshold of the anode smelting division, where he worked his way up from a worker to a foreman.
Almost 34 years is a duration of Radik Gubaidulin employment in high-risk occupations. He chose KMEZ following the example of his father – a driver who dedicate the plant many years of his life. Radik not only masterly owns his stuff, he trained many young specialists with whom he shared and continues sharing his own rich experience without concealment. By the way, the surname «Gubaidulin» turned out to be truly metallurgical. Among the 33 awardees there were two of its bearers at once. When it sounded for the first time, Radik began to rise to his feet, but then following surname he heard a different name – Rustam and another place of work. The state award was received on this day by the namesake and colleague of our Gubaidulin, representing the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Company.
— Of course, it is an honour to be awarded with such a title, — as always, Radik is laconic. — Although I also think that this is the merit of our entire division team. One cannot conquer alone.
— May this day remain forever in your memory, may all your dreams and hopes come true, happiness and health to you! — the governor wished, completing the solemn ceremony. — New Year is not far off. I’m sure it’ll be better than this year. I’m sure that we will deal with all the troubles. Take care of yourself and stay safe!
